How Humans Are Actually Like Plants

One morning I was meditating in the sun and I had a strange realization about humans and how we are actually similar to the plants around us. In this article, I’m here to debunk how we are like plants.

For starters, at a cellular level there are cells called Eukaryotic cells and they have genetic material within their cellular nucleus and are the basic unit of plants and humans. I’m not going to bore you talking about how plants and humans are similar on a cellular level.

We are going to talk about the 4 components I believe that make humans actually like plants.

The 4 Components:

1st Component: Air

In plants, oxygen is absorbed through the air at the roots of the plant. If air is not available to the plants roots then that will cause the plant’s roots to fail. When this happens, roots cannot soak in water and nutrients, resulting in the plant’s leaves to turn yellow or brown. This causes the plant stress and a reduces the life span of the plant.

Plants even need air for photosynthesize or in other words to make food. So ultimately plants need air to survive and thrive, just like humans do. Similarly humans need air to breathe and live also. Without oxygen the human race will become extinct in less than 3 minutes.

2nd Component: Food

We touched lightly on this component in the air section above with plants. All living things need food to grow and maintain life. Even plants, although you don’t see them chewing on food physically but they eat in another way.

How plants eat food is a process called photosynthesis. The plant’s roots absorb water and minerals from the ground and the leaves of the plant take in a gas called carbon dioxide from the air. The plant then convert these ingredients into food by using energy from sunlight.

Humans need food to survive and thrive also. Without food, humans body will physically start to eat at itself until there is nothing to eat anymore and then it dies due to starvation. When humans eat, their body breaks down the food to convert into energy.

3rd Component: Water

I can’t stress this component enough for humans. Today a lot of the human population is not drinking enough water and this is causing many sort of issues for humans. The human body is made up of over 70% of water and to not replenish the body with fluid is catastrophic to the entire body.

How much water does humans need daily?

The easiest way to figure out how much water you need daily is by taking your overall body weight and divide it in half. The number you get is what you need in fluid ounces. Example: 140lb / 2= 70 fl oz.

How much water does plants need daily?

The typical rule of thumb to follow when watering your plants is around 3 liters of water spread out over the course of the day for plants.

If plants don’t get enough water daily, their leaves and roots will turn yellow or brown and they will die. The same thing that happens to plants, happens to humans metaphorically. Although your insides won’t turn brown but your organs and bodily and brain functions won’t be running at an optimal level. This will causes a lot of health issues for humans.

4th Component: Sunlight

Sun is the main source of energy for mostly every living thing on the earth. Sunlight is an important component energy source for all plants. Through a process called photosynthesis(we talk about this above), plants absorb energy from the sun, which fuels the processes necessary for survival.

For humans, sunlight creates a mineral called Vitamin D. The sun’s rays help your body make this nutrient. Vitamin D is important for your bones, blood cells, and immune system. All these things are essential for a healthy life. It also helps you take in and use certain minerals, like calcium and phosphorus.

It’s proven that when humans don’t take in enough sunlight it does horror to your health. Your mental and physical health suffers. Without enough exposure to sunlight humans develop things like depression and get sick more often.

Without sunlight plants and humans will die.

All 4 of these components are important for human and plant health. Without 1 of the 4 your health and plants health will suffer. So the main point I’m taking to make with this article is to get you to prioritize these 4 things(sunlight, water, food, air) and you will live a great quality of life.

95% of all human health issues comes back to these simple 4 components. Either you aren’t getting enough of all 4 components or 1 of the 4 components are lacking in quality.
